This is a short industrial science film that covered the planning, construction and transportation of North America’s heaviest truck load ever, the nuclear reactor pressure core for a nuclear power plant in the eastern Tennessee River Valley in 1972.
How heavy? 1157 US Tons. The truck used 384 tires, The most extremely heavy load ever transported in North America at 2,314,000 lbs.
Look at all that preparation! Glad nuclear power is “cheap.”
