Two Indicted For Truck Driver’s Death

Two Charged With The Death of a Louisiana Truck Driver On August 7, Dupre Logistics truck driver Bobby Nelson, 43, was delivering fuel to a Baton Rouge Chevron gas station when two men approached Nelson.

The men robbed Nelson of his wallet then shot him three times and ran off.

Police found Nelson lying on the ground by his truck shortly after 3:00 a.m.  Nelson was transported to the hospital where he succumbed to his inures two days later during surgery.

Nelson served in the United States Army from July 29, 1986 until July 31, 2007.  During his service, he received numerous military honors and served our country in Southwest Asia, Kosovo, Bosnia, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait.

According to The Advocate,  Phillip Carter, 22, and Robert Pierson, 17, were arrested for the crime and have been charged with second-degree murder and armed robbery.

If convicted, both Carter and Pierson face a 10-99 year sentence.
