Hey truckers – any fans of custom cars out there? How about one of the most famous custom cars in existence? The Batmobile!
A new documentary film about batmobiles, set to debut this winter, features interviews with Batman filmmakers Chris Nolan, Joel Schumacher and Tim Burton. A couple of Batmen get a chance to talk as well, from TV’s original Batman, Adam West, to Dark Knight Christian Bale. The film’s producers also get a few words from George Barris, who aside from being a character in his own right, created the 1960s Batmobile West drove around on camera for several years.
And we have to say – we have a special place in our hearts for the Barris creation. It just LOOKS like a crime fighter’s car that has some real juice, not just some crazy jet fuselage with tail fins. Seriously – come on. How can you even park that monstrosity that inhabited the Joel Schumacher films? We doubt it even fits under the drive through canopy for late night bat snacks!
