Police Officer Dan Pascoe was part of a stolen vehicle chase. After receiving the call from team members, he began setting up a roadblock on a highway exit with his squad car. Almost immediately he was struck by the stolen vehicle he was trying to stop.
The force of the collision sent PC Pascoe flying into the air but he immediately got back to his feet and began chasing the thief who had abandoned the car and fled.
Officer Pascoe was actually able to stand up, run and taser the thief before collapsing. His squad was able to catch up and finish the arrest, then attend to their injured friend.
Thankfully PC Pascoe only sustained minor injuries as a result of the collision but it’s clear that the extremely dangerous manner in which the stolen vehicle was being driven could easily have resulted in a tragic outcome.”
Lee Ralph Adamson was sentenced to 23 months in jail last week after pleading guilty to charges of dangerous driving, failing to stop at the scene of an accident, driving while disqualified, driving without insurance and resisting arrest.
