Vogel was the first girl from the track team to win a state title in more than 20 years.
The next race Vogel was scheduled to run was the 3200 meter distance race.
Vogel was exhausted after pushing herself so hard in the 1600 meter race, and was struggling in last place, when she rounded the corner in the last 100 meters of the race and found that another runner had fallen. Vogel stopped and helped the girl up.
With her arms wrapped around the other runner, Vogel helped the girl cross the finish line.
She is a true champion.
