Volvo North America Issues Recall Over Safety Belts

Published:

Volvo Trucks LogoVolvo is a company that’s very serious about its safety record.

U.S. safety regulators said Volvo Trucks of North America announced a recall of 1,500 trucks with seat belts that may be substandard.

In certain 2002-2013 model VHD and VN trucks made between Aug. 4, 2000 and June 22, 2012, seat belt D-ring welds may flunk the “seat belt pull test,” the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said Monday.

In a crash, the weld on the D-ring could fail, the NHTSA said.

Volvo said the recall would begin on or before Dec. 7

Owners may call the company at 1-336-393-2000 for information.
