The public’s perception of truck drivers is a big deal to CDLLife. Most people don’t understand the profound impact this industry has on their day to day lives. We try and get the word out through stories of good deeds, community service and profiles of truck drivers on a daily basis. But every bit of effort helps.
Volvo Trucks North America has taken the issue of portraying women truck drivers as consummate professionals to the next level. They have made a direct partnership with the trucking advocacy group Women In Trucking to show how a minority is still able to make a big difference in the perception of truck drivers all over the world.
The goal of Women In Trucking is to provide a greater understanding of some of the special challenges women face on the road. From restroom parity at loading docks, to ergonomically designed cabs in the trucks, to detrimental attitudes from fellow truckers, women often find themselves faced with obstacles that might not be obvious to those who found them acceptable in the past.
