Last week, we reported on an attack and robbery at the Seminole Truck Stop and convenience store at 4690 U.S. Hwy. 27 in Weston, Florida.
At approximately 2:15 a.m., two men began showering the crowd with pepper spray. Unable to fight through the fog of pepper spray, the group was robbed of their jewelry.
“One woman, Kimberlyn Clarke, fell and hit her head on the bumper of a van. Clarke was taken to the hospital and remains in critical condition, said Broward Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Veda Cole-man Wright,” the Miami Herald reported.
According to reports, Clarke was the only person who was injured.
Surveillance cameras at the scene captured the incident.
Sadly, Clarke lapsed into a coma. According to Miami’s CBS Local, on Friday, September 28, Clarke passed away.
“It’s such a senseless thing that happened,’’ Marjorie Crossfield, Clarke’s mother, told CBS4 news partner The Miami Herald.
What was once a robbery crime has now turned into a homicide.
Clarke was a Sunday school teacher and worked as a volunteer at YMCA and a local hospital.
“Surveillance video from early that evening shows one of the men buying a Black & Mild cigar at the truck stop’s convenience store. The suspect has dreadlocks and is wearing a 2012 Ralph Lauren T-shirt with a U.S. flag,” Miami CBS reported.
