13-Year-Old Takes Dad’s Truck For Joyride

Published:

According to Lex18, a 13-year-old boy from Kentucky took his dad’s truck for a 60-mile joyride from Boone County to Georgetown.

Earlier in the day, the boy’s father noticed that both his son and his truck were missing.

The father tracked his son’s cell phone to a Pilot off of Interstate 75, where he found his son in his truck unharmed.

Turns out, the teen is quite the driver, this is the second time the teen has stolen dad’s truck.  Lex18 reports that the last time the teen took the truck, he drove all the way to Indiana.

“For a juvenile, it’s pretty impressive that he is able to operate this vehicle. We are just glad that he wasn’t involved in any accidents and nobody got hurt, including himself,” officer Brian Gilliam with Kentucky Vehicle Enforcement told Lex18.

The boy has been charged with theft and has been taken to the Fayette County Juvenile Detention Center.
