75-Car Pileup In Virginia Kills 3, Injures Dozens

Published:

Authorities are saying “excessive fog” is responsible for a fatal 75-car pileup in the southbound lanes of Interstate 77 in Virginia near the Fancy Gap Mountain area at mile marker 6.

The crash occurred at approximately 1:15 p.m. today.

Twenty five people were taken to the hospital and at least three people were killed, ABC News reported.

Authorities shutdown the northbound lanes so that emergency vehicles could get to the scene.

“Authorities advised travelers, many of whom may be traveling for the Easter holiday, to make alternate travel plans or to expect significant delays,” ABC News reported.
