Alleged ‘Prolific’ Truck Thief Captured By U.S. Marshals

Published:

Truck Thief Captured U.S. Marshals say they’ve put an end to James Farmer Lewis’ 15-year crime spree.  Lewis is accused of stealing trailers from fellow drivers  and selling off the loads.

“Mr. Lewis steals tractor trailer loads. Tractors occasionally, but trailer loads of goods frequently, and he’s been indicted for interstate theft and transportation of stolen goods for at least the second time that I know of,” Deputy U.S. Marshal Mike Walker told KSPR.

Earlier this month, Lewis was added to the U.S. Marshal’s most-wanted list.

The U.S. Marshal’s office confirmed they have apprehended Lewis.

“A Marshals deputy said a tip from a KSPR’s Marshals Most Wanted viewer called with a tip Wednesday afternoon with information that led the Marshals Task Force to the America’s Best Value Inn at Kearney Street and Glenstone Avenue in Springfield, [Missouri]” KSPR 33 reported.

On Wednesday, at approximately 3:30 p.m., Lewis was taken into custody without incident.

Details on what charges Lewis will face have not yet been released.
