CB Is Oregon Man’s Lifeline Following Crash

Published:

According to KVAL, on Tuesday afternoon, Justin Cady’s pickup slid off an icy road and crashed down a 25-foot embankment near Little Fall Creek.

Once the pickup came to rest, Cady realized he was trapped in the severely damaged vehicle.

Adding insult to injury, Cady’s cell phone did not have a signal.  Fortunately, Cady had another mode of communication.

Cady began using his CB radio to call for help.

After nearly half an hour of trying to reach someone, Cady got a response from truck driver Arthur Esgate.

Cady told Esgate about the situation and told him his location.  Estage called authorities for help.

Rescuers arrived and were able to get Cady out of the pickup.  Cady was then transported to a local hospital where he was treated and released.

Great job, driver Esgate!

Drivers, do you keep your CB turned off or on while you drive?
