Driver Struck While Changing Tire On U.S. 30 In Ohio

A 30-year-old truck driver was hit and severely injured on Friday night.

The accident occurred at approximately 9:40 p.m., on U.S. 30 in Ohio when driver Mike Campbell stopped to inspect a blown-out tire on his truck.

Campbell was pulled onto the westbound shoulder of U.S. 30, where he was making repairs, when he was struck by an on-coming pickup truck driven by James Yoder, 18.

Campbell was flown to a Lima, Ohio hospital with serious injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.

At this time, it is not known whether or not the driver had placed warning triangles.
