Feds Say Trucking Company Owner Used Employees To Transport Drugs

According to The Monitor, federal authorities arrested the owner of Heavenly Transport, LLC., on Tuesday afternoon after an on-going investigation revealed that the trucking company was transporting drugs.

ICE agents began investigating Javier Casas, owner of Heavenly Transport, after one of his drivers was stopped at the Falfurrias Border Patrol checkpoint and agents found 400 pounds of marijuana hidden in duffle bags which were then put in cargo that was  being transported on the truck.

Agents began questioning the driver about the drugs, and the driver told agents that the truck belongs to Casas and that the he picked up the truck at Casas’ ranch.  The driver told agents he was unaware of the drugs.

Casas was arrested by U.S. Immigrations and Customs Agents, and on Wednesday, Casas appeared before U.S. Magistrate Judge Dorina Ramos.

This isn’t Casas’ first time standing before Judge Ramos.  Judge Ramos previously charged Casas with with drug possession and conspiracy.

Casas is being held without bond until his hearing next week.
