Fire Destroys New York Carrier

Published:

Yesterday, a fire destroyed a Promfret, New York carrier.

Firefighters worked for hours to quell a blaze that set off a series of explosions at Hills Trucking, Inc.  According to WKBW, flames rose into the sky and could be seen from miles away.

“I mean it was just constant, bang, boom. And then we had, I’m not really sure what blew-up, but we had a giant fireball,” said Matt Davis, Hills Trucking employee, told WKBW.

“I got to the first bay in our garage and the truck that was in front was already fully on fire and the flames were hitting the ceiling,”  Davis continued.

The fire began in a truck that was parked inside the garage which is where the company’s welding supplies and truck tires were stored.  The business is nearly a total loss.

“The big thing is that the people got out. Nobody got hurt, that’s what is more important. I mean this is tough for everybody here. There is a lot of family involved in the business and the owner built it from the ground up,” added Davis.
