Flatbed Driver Killed By Rolling Load

Flatbed Driver Killed By Rolling Load Last week, a 59-year-old truck driver was killed while loading a large piece of steel onto his flatbed.

The accident occurred at approximately 4:40 p.m., last Wednesday, at the Cactus Wellhead facility located at 4117 Meadow Lane in Bossier City, Louisiana.

According to the Bossier Press, driver Bobby Wayne Higginson was loading a large, round piece of steel that is used for manufacturing oil and gas production equipment onto his truck, when the large piece of steel began to roll, causing Higginson to fall off of the trailer.  The piece of steel then rolled off the flatbed and onto Higginson.

Higginson was pronounced dead at the scene.
