UPDATE: Greyhound Bus Rear Ends Truck: 1 Dead, Dozens Injured

Overnight, a Greyhound bus headed from New York and bound for Ohio rear ended a truck, killing 1 and injuring at least a dozen others.

The crash occurred at approximately 2:00 a.m. on interstate 80 in Pennsylvania in White Deer Township in Union County, near the Williamsport exit.

Authorities say the Greyhound bus slammed into the back of a truck.

One woman was killed and 12 others were transported to local hospitals, some had to be airlifted.

Authorities say there were as many as 50 people on board the bus, including the driver.

Greyhound says the bus driver has been with the company for more than 12 years.

“The westbound lanes of the interstate were shut down, but one lane of travel was opened just before 5 a.m. Wednesday,” the Akron Beacon Journal reported.

The crash remains under investigation. There is no word on the condition of the truck driver.
