The Cadillac driver nearly hit the officer at that time, and managed to escape from the view of the authorities in pursuit.

The drivers of the tow truck noticed the wrong-way motorist after hearing the action on their police scanners. The drivers called 911 to report their sightings, and continued to follow the runaway Cadillac.

The misguided driver of the Cadillac eventually realized his mistake and turned around, and was stopped by police in downtown Houston on I-45 and Dallas.

After making the traffic stop, authorities realized that there were also 2 poodles in the vehicle – which were taken into the custody of animal control.

The driver in question was not arrested at the scene of the traffic stop due to fact that he was complaining of stomach issues. He was then transported to a nearby hospital to be treated for his stomach problems as well as tested for drug or alcohol use.

There were no injuries caused due to the incident.
