Hudson TravelCenters Of America Gets New ‘Powerhouse Chapel’

Published:

TravelCenters of America in Hudson, Wisconsin off of I-94, has a new ‘Powerhouse Chapel.’
A converted covered semi-trailer, dubbed the ‘Mobile Chapel’ was delivered early this month from Pennsylvania by chapel-makers, Cerwin and Doris High.

High makes chapels for ‘Transport for Christ’ – a ministry for drivers consisting of 34 truck stop chapels around the United States and Canada.
Hudson’s TravelCenter has had a ‘Powerhouse Chapel’ since 1992, but the old chapel had acquired a rip and the roof as well as water streaks, and a little sag over time.
The new chapel was converted from a 1994 Stoughton trailer which was donated by a Pennsylvania trucking firm. Cerwin sandblasted and repainted the trailer, added windows and an entrance door, paneling, laminate flooring, countertops, and carpet. The chapel was also furnished with cushioned chairs, a hide-a-bed sofa, a recliner, refrigerator, coffeemaker, and microwave oven.
