The Indiana Department of Transportation has updated its list of road closures. Rising waters prompted the closures. INDOT says the closures will remain in effect until the waters have receded. Some of the previously closed roads have now reopened.
From INDOT, the following roads are either closed or INDOT is advising motorists to use caution around these areas of high water:
Daviess/Knox County
SR 358, from SR 67 Edwardsport to SR57 Plainville
Daviess/Pike County
SR 257, from US 50 Washington to SR 356 Otwell
Martin County
SR 550, from US 50 in Loogootee to US 150 near Shoals
Martin & Lawrence County
SR 450, from US 50 Shoals to SR 158 Bedford
Perry County
NOW OPEN: SR 66 from SR 62 Sulphur to SR 70 Derby
NOW OPEN: SR 66 from SR 166 Rocky Point to SR 70 Derby
INDOT urges motorists who encounter flooded roadways to turn around and to not drive through standing water.
