A truck driver is dead and dozens of others are injured after a log truck collided with a passenger train in West Virginia.

According to the Daily Journal, on Friday, Danny Lee Kimble, of Barton, West Virginia, was attempting to cross the railroad tracks along U.S. Route 250 when his truck collided with a train full of tourists who were onboard a fall foliage sightseeing tour.

The crash occurred at approximately 1:30 p.m. on Friday.

Sixty three passengers and four crew members were onboard the train.  The collision caused two of the cars to flip onto their sides. Dozens were injured and taken to local hospitals for evaluation.  Many of the injuries were reported as minor.

The crash is under investigation.  Investigators are working to determine whether or not the truck’s brakes were defective.
