Man Dies in Truck-Car Road Rage Incident

Road RageA road rage incident between a box truck driver and an SUV driver left one man dead.  According to CBS Local St. Louis, on Thursday, a 43-year-old man, driving a Lincoln Navigator, was cut off by a box truck driver on Interstate 70 in St. Louis.

The enraged SVU driver followed the box truck driver as he took the exit onto Union.

The Missourian reports that while on Union, the two drivers collided several times.

At a red light, the SUV driver allegedly got out of his vehicle and began striking the truck with a hammer.  The box truck driver tried to get away when the light turned green.

The SUV driver allegedly continued following the box truck.  At the next light, the SUV driver again brandished a hammer and jumped onto the hood of the truck and tried to break though the windshield.

Trying to escape again, the box truck driver began to drive again and the man with the hammer was thrown from the truck.  He suffered fatal injuries.

Details are unclear, but at one point, the box truck driver was struck with the hammer.

Authorities are investigating the incident.  The names of the involved parties have not been released.
