Man Shoots Bullet Into Truck On I-44

Man Fires Gun At TrafficA Missouri man is in jail after being charged with firing a weapon into passing traffic, after a bullet from the man’s gun pierced the sleeper berth of a passing truck.

According to KSPR, 59-year-old Sepid Majid Salem was traveling along Interstate 44 near mile marker 166 in Pulaski County, Missouri, when he suddenly pulled his vehicle onto the shoulder of the road and told the woman he was traveling with, “I have an urge.”

Salem fired five shots.  One of the bullets hit a truck that was traveling east on Interstate 44.  The bullet went through the sleeper berth.  Fortunately, the man in the sleeper was not injured.

A witness called 911 to report the crime. Police caught up with Salem in Rolla, Missouri and placed him under arrest.

The truck driver whose truck was struck by a bullet pulled into a rest area near Doolittle.  The truck was equipped with a dash camera which captured the entire incident.  The recording has been turned over to prosecutors.

Salem has been charged with felony first-degree assault, felony unlawful use of a weapon and felony property damage.
