New Wal-Mart Distribution Center To Create Driving Jobs

Published:

An announcement has recently been made about a Wal-Mart perishable grocery distribution center being built in Alamance County, North Carolina.

Wal-Mart will be receiving a $1.1 million grant from the ‘One North Carolina Fund.’ This will help to erect the 440,000 square foot facility predicted to open for business in the fall of 2016.

The new facility will serve 123 Wal-Mart locations in North Carolina and also in neighboring states.

This opening will create 450 new jobs, and will mean a big increase in trucking jobs for those that move product from North Carolina to other parts of the region.

According to Wal-Mart, the company will be using it’s own truck drivers – once the Alamance County operation is up and running, outside firms will be hired on to help with shipping.
