The North Carolina Department of Transportation has announced that the Concord rest area, located on Interstate 85 at the 59 mile marker, will close on Monday, October 28.
The rest area will remain closed until Friday, November 8, while crews work to make upgrades on the facility.
Crews will be working to mill and resurface the ramp from I-85 and the parking area. After resurfacing is complete, crews will need to paint new markings.
The rest area has 84 parking spaces for trucks and commuters.
If you’re traveling north on I-85, you’re encouraged to use the rest area located at mile marker 2 in Cleveland County or the Davidson County rest area located at the 99 mile marker.
