Drivers traveling I-20 today through Mississippi should proceed with caution. There is currently a manhunt underway near the Flowers exit in Warren County. – The suspect is said to have bailed out of his Toyota truck at this exit, and is known to be armed and dangerous.
Last night deputies and troopers were involved in a chase with the individual on I-20, until he crashed and abandoned his vehicle – running into the woods. The Hinds County Sheriff’s Department is currently trying to apprehend the suspect.
The suspect is a white male – who was originally stopped for drugs, but fled the traffic stop where he injured two agents who were both hospitalized.
A CDLLife reader commented that there are a significant amount of law enforcement and FBI officials in the area, guns drawn, taking cover behind their vehicles.
Officials are asking that motorists avoid the area.
