Not to age myself, but I have a son who will soon turn 16 and in this day of “path of least resistance parenting,” it’s nice to see a parent hold his or her children accountable for their actions.
A mom in Wyoming put up an ad in the Northern Wyoming Daily News to sell her 16-year-old son’s pickup truck. Apparently the son had only been driving the pickup truck for 3 months before he was caught driving drunk.
The ad reads: “VERY mad mother selling 16 yr. old son’s 1993 Ford Ranger. Drove 3 mos. before son forgot to use his brain and got caught driving drunk. $3,500 OBO. Call meanest mother in Wyoming, 307-xxx-xxxx.”
While some may coin the mom the meanest mom, I believe she’s teaching her son a hard but valuable life lesson about the consequences of his actions. I can say that as a strict but loving parent of a teenage boy, I support his mom and her decision.
