Philadelphia I-76 Schuylkill Expressway At A Standstill

Published:

ATTENTION DRIVERS:

Philadelphia authorities are urging motorists to avoid Schuylkill Expressway close to Montgomery Drive on I-76.

Due to a deadly crash which happened at 4:30 this morning and major flooding (due to rain), there are currently serious traffic backups on both sides of the Schuylkill Expressway close to Montgomery Drive in Philadelphia, PA.

Seven people were injured in the accident, and there was one fatality.

Pennsylvania State Police are currently at the scene, and have commented that the Westbound lanes are likely to be shut down through rush hour this morning.

There is a small pond covering a majority of the expressway, and there is one lane of traffic inching by as the road crews are working to open the storm drains.

Motorists are being urged to seek alternate routes.
