According to the Mayo Clinic, probiotics are a ‘good’ variety of bacteria which are classified as microorganisms which help with the digestive process. Additionally, they also protect us from harmful bacteria alongside the other (more than 500 types of) ‘good’ bacterias our bodies contain. How do they get in there, you ask? – From fermented dairy products like yogurt, cultured vegetables such as pickles or sauerkraut, kombucha (a probiotic beverage), or a probiotic dietary supplement!
