Last week, Meredith Ochs and Chris T from the Road Dog Radio Network had a petition created with truck drivers in mind, hoping to have it sent to the White House. But they need your help.
The online petition site We The People is hosting their petition here to get the Motor Carrier Exemption removed from the Fair Labor Standards Act.
They did this because, like the petition says, “Its original intent – to allow the Secretary of Transportation to determine safe Hours of Service – has been distorted and led unwittingly to a situation where truck drivers are not compensated fairly for the time they spend waiting to pick up or deliver a load.”
If you agree with what they said, why not take a minute and give your opinion on it? To get the petition presented to the Obama administration for review and possible action, they need to get 100,000 signatures. As you can see, they have a long way to go.
