Rock Slide Shuts Down One Lane of Missouri Route 63

MoDOTAn overnight rock slide has closed the northbound lane of U.S. Route 63 north of the Boone and Calloway County line.

MoDOT says it will work to bid a contract to clean up and fix the problem on Monday, but the actual work my not begin until Tuesday.

The northbound lane is expected to remain closed for approximately 10 days with other closures expected periodically throughout the duration of the project, which is expected to be complete by early May. MoDOT says it will post message boards and warning lights and signs to inform drivers of the lane closure.”We are working as quickly as we can to fix the problem,” said MoDOT Central District Engineer David Silvester.  “Our primary concern is always for the traveling public, and we are taking every precaution to ensure conditions in the area of the rock slide remain safe for travel.”
