Shelby County, Kentucky Weigh Station Closes Temporarily

The Kentucky Department of Transportation has announced that the eastbound Interstate 64 weigh station in Shelby County is now closed and will remain closed until a new facility can be built.

Nearly 16,000 trucks roll through the scales each month.

Signs along eastbound I-64 will notify drivers of the closure and barrels have been placed along the exit ramps to prevent drivers from entering the facility.

The new weigh station is expected to be completed by early 2014.
