According to a press release from the Tennessee Department of Transportation, a section of I-440 east, between I-65 and I-24, will we closed for the next ten weekends while crews work to complete “major concrete repairs.”

The project is expected to cost $9.7 million dollars but will widen the stretch of I-440 east.  TDOT says the weekends closures will help expedite the construction.

The project is tentatively scheduled to be complete by November 2013.

TDOT says it will use overhead signs to direct motorists around the closure.
