Truck Driver Seriously Injured In I-75 Crash

Truck Accident

On Wednesday, an accident between three cars and a truck backed up traffic for miles on Interstate 75, near Seven Mile in Detroit.

A witness told police the accident was caused when a truck swerved to avoid hitting a car that had cut in front of the truck.

The truck driver suffered serious injuries and is listed in critical condition.

Detroit CBS spoke with crash victim Kenneth Johnson, who said, “I see the car, I see the Cadillac come up on the wreck , I see him crash and then once he crash, there was more, the top of his stuff fell right in front of us. I know he hit the car … I know he hit our car, I’m just surprised he didn’t damage our car like that – it was real lucky.”

Sergeant Paul Dipetro said the accident was a chain-reaction collision and that crash investigators are still working to determine the cause.
