Truck Drivers Thwart Kidnapping

Published:

Two truck drivers helped end every parent’s nightmare.

On July 4, 2013, Jessica Barraza, 35, allegedly entered a Cuero, Texas home and took an 8-month-old baby from its playpen.

The baby’s siblings witnessed the kidnapping and contacted family members who phoned police.

“Barraza is related to a former boyfriend of the baby’s mom,” Cross Roads Today reported.

An Amber Alert was issued with the baby’s description along with a description of the suspect’s car.

Not long after the Amber Alert was issued, a truck driver who had stopped on the side of Highway 181, near Pettus, notified authorities that he had located the car that matched the Amber Alert description.

Another truck driver at the scene took Barraza’s keys to prevent her from fleeing the scene.

Police arrived and arrested Barraza and returned the baby to its family.  She has been charged with burgulary of a habitation and kidnapping.
