According to the Bureau of Transportation Statistics, three of the five modes of transportation carried more U.S.-NAFTA goods in September 2013 than they did in September 2012. Â In addition, the value of overall U.S. trade with Canada and Mexico rose 5.0%.
In September, three-fifths of NAFTA goods were transported by truck, (59.4%) of the $94.4 billion worth of NAFTA trade. Rail was the second leading mode for transporting goods at 16.1% and vessels came in as third at 8.6%.
