At approximately 2:45 p.m. today, two explosions were reported at the Boston Marathon.
The explosions happened near the finish line three hours after the first group of runners made it through. Â Thousands of runners were passing through the finish line at the time of the explosions.
Authorities have confirmed the explosions were a block apart. Â Boston police set off a third explosion in the area. Â Three more unexploded suspected bombs have been found. Â The JFK Library is now on fire, it has been reported a bomb was set off there.
So far, 28 injuries and two deaths have been confirmed. Â Six victims are listed in critical condition. Â At least 68 people were transported to the hospital.
The last mile of the race was dedicated to the victims of the Newton, Connecticut. Â The Newton victims’ families were sitting in the VIP area.
Federal officials have now confirmed the explosions were intentional bombings.
