Two Bombings, Multiple Injuries At Boston Marathon

At approximately 2:45 p.m. today, two explosions were reported at the Boston Marathon.

The explosions happened near the finish line three hours after the first group of runners made it through.  Thousands of runners were passing through the finish line at the time of the explosions.

Authorities have confirmed the explosions were a block apart.  Boston police set off a third explosion in the area.  Three more unexploded suspected bombs have been found.  The JFK Library is now on fire, it has been reported a bomb was set off there.

So far, 28 injuries and two deaths have been confirmed.  Six victims are listed in critical condition.  At least 68 people were transported to the hospital.

The last mile of the race was dedicated to the victims of the Newton, Connecticut.  The Newton victims’ families were sitting in the VIP area.

Federal officials have now confirmed the explosions were intentional bombings.
