UDOT Announces Citizen Traveler Reporting Program

Published:

This week, the Utah Department of Transportation unveiled its newest weather and road information program– the UDOT Citizen Reporting program.

The program enlists volunteers to report on current road conditions along specific sections of roads across Utah, and who better to help than truck drivers?

“The long term goal of adding Citizen Reporters to UDOT’s weather operations road reporting is to supplement current condition reporting on segments where drivers are already traveling,” UDOT said.

Interested in becoming a UDOT Citizen Reporter?  All you have to do is complete a 30-minute training class, take a short quiz and sign up. This can be done online or in person.

Once a Citizen Reporter has completed his or her training, the Citizen Reporter will be given a login and PIN.  Reports will be submitted through the UDOT Citizen Reporting app which is available for Android and iPhone users.

If you would like to become a Citizen Reporter, please follow this link to take the online training:www.udottraffic.utah.gov/training/citizenreporter. For more information or to schedule an in person training, email[email protected].
