UPDATE: Driver Robbed And Stabbed At North Carolina Rest Area

Yesterday we reported on a driver who was robbed and stabbed at a North Carolina rest area Thomasville.

Today, The Davidson County Dispatch reported that the driver, 34-year-old Kevin Watson, pulled over on the shoulder of the road near the northbound I-85 rest area at approximately 11:00 a.m.  Soon after, he was approached by a man asking for money.

When Watson told the man that he didn’t have any money, the man pulled a knife and aimed for Watson’s stomach.

Sheriff David Grice told the Davidson County Dispatch that Watson was able to deflect the knife and was hit in the leg instead.

The suspect is described as a white male with a slender build, in his mid to late 30s, approximately 5’10” with blonde hair.  He was wearing a dirty, white shirt and had acne on his face.

According to WFMY, at approximately 10:37 a.m. this morning a truck driver was stabbed in the leg at a rest area in North Carolina.

The driver had stopped at the I-85 north rest area near Thomasville when he was robbed and stabbed.

A passerby saw the driver limping and called 911.

The driver was taken to the hospital and the incident is being investigated.

There is no suspect description at this time.
