Remember the Ice Cream Truck Turf Wars between ‘Sno Cone Joe’ and ‘Mr. Ding-A-Ling?’
Well, it appears that there are two sides to this story on this one. A new piece of footage was introduced in court that exposed an interesting inconsistency in ‘Mr. Ding-A-Ling’s’ story.
Joshua Malatino’s (owner of ‘Sno Cone Joe’) 11-year-old daughter caught Phillip Hollister (driver of the ‘Mr. Ding-A-Ling truck) on video throwing up his middle finger towards the ‘Sno Cone Joe’ truck, instead of going inside to avoid conflict like Hollister had previously claimed to have done. The video shows that he remained outside until the ‘Sno Cone Joe’ truck had left to area to continue on it’s route.
In the video, as Scott pulls away Malatino’s daughter says, “Mr. Ding-A-Ling just gave us the finger.” However, it was difficult to see in the video if the alleged action occurred.
According to Amanda Scott (also a driver of the ‘Sno Cone Joe’ truck), she had been recording a number of activity involving their competitors because police had recommended that she do so after a previous incident with a different ice cream truck, ‘Mr. Pop Pop’ – who had allegedly been harassing the ‘Sno Cone Joe’ drivers. However, police are reported to have stated that Scott and Malatino were accused of harassing ‘Mr. Pop Pop’ as well.
It is not yet decided at this point, if either of the ice cream truck drivers will be allowed to renew their permits.
