I-84 in Utah’s Weber Canyon was shut down earlier today near mile marker 108.
I-84 West and Eastbound lanes are closed from mile marker 103-112, and will be for several hours.
According to John Gleason of the Utah Department of Transportation, the accident involved a semi hauling two tankers trailers trying to pass another semi on a curve. The rear tanker overturned, causing a fire, which occurred around 7:45AM this morning.
One of those trucks contained several thousand gallons of diesel fuel which spilled all over the roadway.
There are currently crews on the scene cleaning up the spill – it is now known what caused the tanker truck to catch fire, or if there are any injuries.
