A driver in Michigan told officer David Miller that he had accidentally hit a deer on the road. The motorist thought the deer was dead, so he loaded it into his truck to take it home for his family to eat.

In Michigan, motorists are allowed to keep a deer that has been hit, but they must report it.

The man called authorities to alert them of the accident.

As you can see from the video taken from the squad car’s dash camera, the deer wasn’t quite dead.
