The ‘William Preston Lane Jr. Memorial Bridge’ – also referred to as the ‘Bay Bridge’ is a 5 mile stretch on the Chesapeake Bay which connects two of Maryland’s shores. At the highest point, the bridge stands at 186 feet, and is often stricken by violent storms.
