A Xenia Ohio State Trooper was using his onboard computer, while driving 85 miles per hour, when he hit a motorcycle.
Two cyclists, Corey and Amy Waldman, were seriously injured.
The trooper, Jacob Daymon, was fined $150, plus a misdemeanor fine for failing to maintain an assured clear distance.
According to the highway patrol’s crash report, Trooper Jacob Daymon was speeding (81 in a 65) and using his in-car computer in August 2013 when he struck a motorcycle carrying Corey and Amy Waldman.
In addition, Trooper Daymon’s license was suspended for six months, however, the judge allowed an exemption to accommodate Daymons’ work.
