Wanted South Carolina Man Throws Himself Into Truck’s Path

Suicidal Man

A man who was wanted by police for a sex crime, threw himself into the path of a truck on Tuesday morning.

According to WISTV, a warrant was issued for Robby Hand, 50, for first-degree criminal sexual conduct with a child younger than 10 years old on June 2.

Authorities said Hand was expected to turn himself in yesterday.  Instead, Hand allegedly attempted suicide.

At approximately 8:40 a.m., Hand threw himself into the path of a truck on Interstate 85 in Greer, South Carolina.

WISTV reports that witnesses called the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office to report that a pedestrian had been hit by a truck on Interstate 85 near Laurens Road.

The truck driver tried to avoid hitting Hand, but the truck struck Hand with the driver’s side of the cab.

Hand was transported to the hospital and is expected to survive.   There is no information on the extent of the man’s injuries.
