Wisconsin Carrier Fifth To File Suit Against Pilot Flying J

Published:

The lawsuits against Pilot Flying J are beginning to pile up.  The fifth lawsuit against the company was filed on Wednesday by Wisconsin carrier Edis Trucking.

The suit filed by Edis Trucking is the first of the five suits to name Jimmy Haslam, Mark Hazelwood, Mitch Steenrod, Scott Wombold, Jeff Freeman and Brian Mosher individually, in addition to the company.

The suit claims that Haslam, “exercised control, authority, responsibility and/or supervision” of the company’s employees and officers. It also said he oversaw “corporate culture, operations, policies, procedures, the fuel rebate/discount program and the scheme to defraud (Edis and other companies).”

According to Cleveland.com, the suit claims that Pilot Flying J and its employees “received substantial income derived, directly or indirectly, from a pattern of unlawful activity.”

Haslam has repeatedly denied any knowledge of the rebate scheme or wrongdoing.
