2014 Driver Of The Year Recognized For 5 Million Safe Miles

Fairbanks driver, John Schank has been on the road for 37 accident-free years. – This week, Lynden Transport is celebrating his accomplishment!

Schank started driving for Lynden in 1975, and made the ‘haul road’ (also known as ‘The Dalton’) trip 4,921 times (5 million miles) – a larger total distance than any other driver in the history of the ‘haul road.’

John was recently named 2014 Driver of the Year by the Alaska Trucking Association, and received special commendation from Governor Sean Parnell.

Fellow driver, Terry Holt says that Schank is like a father figure to a number of the company’s younger drivers. – He’s never too busy to answer questions, lend a hand, and humbly share his knowledge.

– Great work, driver!
