Baton Rouge Garbage Truck Driver Recognized As ‘Driver of the Year’

Published:

Baton Rouge garbage trough driver, Johnny Caine has officially been named Driver of the Year by the National Waste and Recycling Industry – for the second time in a row!

The ‘Driver of the Year’ program has been designed to recognize drivers who are committed to safety and providing satisfactory customer service in the waste industry.

Johnny works hard to service the Baton Rouge residential areas. He drives 460 miles and completes 7,200 garbage pick-ups every week! Caine has been working for Republic Services since 1999, and has a perfect, accident-free safety record.

He was chosen from 908 drivers across 30 companies.

Caine was nationally recognized in Atlanta at the 46th annual Waste Expo last Tuesday, and will receive his own new garbage truck from Republic Services!

According to Caine, “I have been successful in life thus far because I was taught to believe in myself,” says Caine. “I come to work not just because I enjoy my job, but to set an example for my children. I want them to understand what and where hard work can get you in life.”

Congratulations, driver! Keep up the good work!
