According to KYMA, commercial drivers driving through Coachella Valley should be advised that CHP will be targeting drivers who are speeding, driving unsafely or using handheld devices.
In addition, officers will be inspecting trucks, looking for faulty brakes and other mechanical issues.
Officer Mike Radford told KYMA, “Mechanical defects are at times a contributing factor to collisions involving commercial vehicles.”
