California Man Killed While Trying to Ride on a Truck

Published:

A man trying to hitch a ride on the back of a truck was killed when he fell off of the truck and was run over by the truck’s trailer.

The accident occurred at approximately 11:45 p.m. near Turk and Mason Street in San Francisco.

The man, who has not yet been identified, was standing between the truck’s fuel tanks. As the truck turned, the man lost his grip and fell from the truck.   He was struck and killed by the trailer tires.

The truck driver apparently didn’t realize he had run over the man, because he did not stop.

San Francisco authorities are searching for the driver.   The truck is described as a dark-colored truck pulling two stainless tankers.  Authorities believe he may have been delivering gasoline to a rental car company in the area.
